Planning your wedding and which vendor to book first

It has been one hell of a ride! You probably visited most of Europe together, went to New York for New Years, swam in warmest oceans and seas together and he finally popped the question. So you said yes, because he's the one you want to keep on discovering this world with.

The next step can be overwhelming and scary if you have never dealt with a wedding industry. You probably have already set your preliminary date and hopping on Google to ask this very question. I'm getting married, who do I book first?

Before even beginning to draft a budget, decide where you want to get married. Do you want a destination wedding or at home? This will give you an idea of how many guests you want to invite to your wedding. Do you want to get married in a castle? Pick your top five favourite places and start inquiring about the pricing around the date that you picked. Visit those places, compare them and book your favourite one.

Then comes the band. For some reason wedding bands are harder to book than wedding photographers. Start inquiring early, compare the prices and quality. The same goes for every other vendor.

Wedding photographer is next. Wedding photos is something that will actually last, apart from your wedding dress and your wedding bands. So make sure the quality is there for you to look back on your day with joy in decades' time! If it's a destination wedding photographer, they could have shot a wedding where you are planning to get married. Ask for a couple of full wedding galleries before you meet them in person. Don't judge it upon the price, judge it upon their personality, portfolio and confidence. It's the only person you will spend the most of your day with.

Start dress shopping. Between picking your favourite dress, alterations and fittings ... It can be a very lengthy process. Once you pick your dress and your venue, it will then be easier to pick your wedding cake, your invitations flowers and the colour scheme of the wedding.
