You will hear me talking about changing the look in a photoshoot a lot. When you're booking me as your wedding photographer you receive a pre-wedding shoot in the package. This means that it will help you as a couple to open up in front of the camera so that you will feel confident and relaxed on your wedding day. It helps to establish a relationship between me as your photographer and you as my clients.
With the help of a fashion blogger Eva, and a mommy of 3, we will demonstrate using 2 looks to style a pre-wedding photoshoot.
First on the list is a look that showcases an 'everyday you'. I deliberately advise you to start the photoshoot with a comfortable look as it will help to relax in front of the camera a lot faster.
In the months of autumn you can wear wooly jumpers with a pop of colour. You can add jewellery like sunglasses or bold necklaces. It's quite fun to wear a cartoony tee to add a little bit of playfulness to the mood!
Our second look is always a dressier version of the first look. It can be a dress or a jumpsuit. A set of clothes that you would normally wear to a birthday party or out for dinner.
In here we chose a satin dress with an orange handbag that continues the colour scheme from the first look's orange cardigan. The dress is bright and photographs very well. No patterns, bright colours and bold jewellery are the key aspects to styling a good look for a photograph.
You can now see that to get the most out of your one hour photoshoot with two differently styled looks is easy. On average changing between looks takes about 10-15 minutes. The time spent to change into different clothes, will give you an opportunity to relax and to asses your feelings and emotions towards the shoot.
